New owners, new product : Exciting changes at Eldridge Estate

As reported in the last newsletter, after 28 years, David Lloyd has sold Eldridge Estate and retired to Tasmania. We would like to take this opportunity to thank David. He is a legend in the Australian wine industry, a gifted wine maker and a generous soul. As the new custodians of this beautiful vineyard we are indebted to the love and care that he has put into the property. We will do our utmost to continue his tradition of crafting wines that reflect the unique character of the Red Hill terroir.

THE TEAM

After years of working in our chosen careers, we have turned our love and knowledge of fine wines into a livelihood.

With the help of Sara Vanagt, an accomplished vineyard manager and wine maker in her own right, and who has already been at Eldridge for 2 years, and Steve Flamsteed, Australian Gourmet Traveller magazine’s 2016 Winemaker of the Year, we will be creating handcrafted Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Gamay wines representative of our terroir.

NEW CELLAR DOOR

We have renovated the old cellar door and invite you to come by to enjoy a tasting, a glass of wine or a gourmet platter. We also suggest that you book via the website to avoid disappointment.

NEW RELEASE

We are excited to announce that we have just released the 2017 vintage Pf Sparkling wine. It is a delicious, complex blend of chardonnay, pinot noir and pinot meunier , the traditional components of the champenoise method. It has very fine bead, and shows flavours of fresh lemon peel and a finishing fresh hint of green apple.

Get in quick with your order as we only made 30 dozen and they will undoubtedly go quickly at $65 a bottle.

Please look out for our next newsletter with news of this year’s vintage and for details of upcoming special events.
We are keen to share a glass of wine with as many of you as possible.

Cheers,

Elli & Vicki
