My wife, Carol Crowther somehow managed to juggle having a constant stream of people visiting the winery with her work as a veterinarian and making the 90 minute journey to cheer me up in hospital all whilst visiting her sister dying of cancer in the hospice in Frankston. The chief organiser of the “Burkitt Team” was George Mihaly of Paradigm Hill who was ably assisted by Steve Marshall, aka “Avo Man” who managed all kind of logistics as tanks and barrels were shifted to all parts of the Peninsula so the many friends could produce wine from my grapes. It would have been much easier to just give up and sell the fruit or leave it on the vine as everyone involved had their own wines to look after but the team approach was lead by George and Steve who used Carol to pass on news or questions. I will be forever grateful for the “Burkitt Team"
