Yrsa's Chardonnay 2017
Bright, light to medium-yellow colour with a rich, nuanced, oak-kissed bouquet, which holds a lot of interest. It leads into an intense, driving palate of good concentration and persistence showing lovely citrus and melon flavours.
There is richness, fruit-sweetness and amplitude at the same time as refinement, balance and length. A stunning chardonnay. It's in the zone right now. (From a vineyard at Red Hill. A rare wine produced in a year when bad flowering caused an 88% crop reduction at Eldridge Estate) 95 points, Huon Hooke and James Halliday.
