David was in the Peter McCallum hospital being treated for stage 4 Burkitt Lymphoma at harvest. The wines from the 2020 vintage were made with the help of many friends and the blend is different to the usual Pinot Noirs produced so David has decided to dedicate it to his friends and the wonderful staff at Peter McCallum who got the cancer into remission.

$20 from every bottle sold went to the Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation. I raised $30k for the foundation to continue the great work by the people who took me from a stage 4 diagnosis of Burkitt Lymphoma to my current state of remission. This is the ONLY Pinot Noir produced by Eldridge from vintage 2020.

Burkitt Blend Pinot Noir 2020 - 12 PACK

  • The aroma shows pretty red fruits, predominately red cherry with a little raspberry. The palate has beautiful balance & length. It begins with bright red cherry with a hint of dark berries on the finish. This is one of the prettiest Pinot Noirs ever produced from the Eldridge vineyard and is the first ever to use all eight clones of pinot planted across our vineyard. It was harvested between April 2 and April 8, 2020. The clones were blended at harvest and  fermented using wild yeast.The result reminds me of the Pinots I made in 1999 and 2002, both of which are still drinking beautifully. However, the great charm of this wine is its seductive aroma and beautiful palate that make it best suited for consumption and enjoyment over the next 5 years.

    Technical Data12.8% Alcohol, pH 3.41 and Total Acid of 6 g/l with low use of sulfur dioxide, ie 25 parts free and under 95 TOTAL.
